Regional Sheets
The purpose of the sheets that EuroLIO has developed for each of the French regions is to place them at a European level in terms of innovation technologies. Innovation level is determined via the data provided by patents. Despite the fact that all innovations are not patented, academic studies have shown that patents are a reliable indicator of technological innovation (cf. Method Sheet on the Use of Patent Data). We also consider the determining factors for innovation, namely:
- Effort devoted to R&D activities
- Human Resources for Science and Technology
- The sectoral and technological structuring of the economic fabric
- The importance of Science-Industry collaboration
